Happy World Environment day from Muswellbrook Shire Council

Monday June 5 is World Environment Day, and it’s a day dedicated to educating the community of the importance of the environment and it’s preservation.

Muswellbrook Shire Council has promised to reduce their environmental impact from their operations by increasing the use of solar power, implementing water efficiency programs, revegetating Muscle Creek and engaging in the War on Waste in the local community.

Some of its initiatives include an increased use of solar power, implementing water efficiency programs, completing large scale revegetation of Muscle Creek and launching a renewed War on Waste program.

The council also suggests that everyone can get involved in helping the environment – perhaps by reducing plastic usage, using a keep cup instead of a disposable coffee cup (you can buy a NSW Meals On Wheels cup and 100% goes to charity here), and by simply taking shorter showers.

Every little bit helps in keeping our environment looking great!
