The Muswellbrook workers club is known for having great food, great friends and a great cinema. But this week, the cameras got turned around, as film crews shot the final scenes of the upcoming movie A Silent Agreement.
And keen locals didn’t have to just sit on the sidelines; with many up and coming actors from across the upper hunter appearing as extras in scenes.
The Aussie film stars Davo Hardy, who also happens to be the director and writer of the film. Davo got the idea to film in Muswellbrook last year, after appearing as one of the judges in the annual Blue Heeler Film Festival. “I saw there was a lot of talent up here and a lot of really eager filmmakers who were looking for more outlets to not feel like they’re not so quite removed from the big city,”
A Silent Agreement is the story of troubled writer Reuben Heywood (played by Davo Hardy), and even features Strictly Ballroom star Paul Mercurio. The film is scheduled to release in September this year
